Ice beer production
Freeze Stabilization - "Deep Chill" by Slush
Freezing

Introduction
The NIRO SLUSH FREEZER SYSTEM originates from our
Freeze Concentration Process. This process uses the same technology without the
wash column for separating the ice. The application on Ice Beer is an example
of a successful commercial application of this proven technology. Along with
the marketing aspects, this application provides a number of technological
advantages that apply for other applications as well. Low temperature
stabilization is a very interesting one.
The characteristics of the
Niro Slushfreezer Sysytem:
- Product is cooled to its natural freezing point
- Contact time with ice is easily controlled
- No ice accumulation in storage tanks or pipe lines.
- Product is recovered without ice
- No product losses occur with the ice
- Natural process without additives

Advantages of ice beer production by Niro Slushfreezer Sysytem
While marketing aspects vary with each application and location, there
are also operational advantages:
- Low temperature product stabilization is achieved without the use of
additives.
- The Niro Slush Freezer guarantees MAXIMUM CHILLING without risk of
equipment freeze-up.
- Low temperature product stabilization is achieved without the use of
additives.
- The use of the Niro Slush Freezer in combination with a recrystallizer
guarantees a controlled contact time of the product and ice.
- Continuous, long-term operation WITHOUT NEED FOR INTERMEDIATE CLEANING..
- COMPLETE HOLDUP OF ICE CRYSTALS so the product is held below its freezing
point without the presence of ice in the final product.
- SIMPLE AUTOMATED OPERATION.
Conclusions
The "Deep Chill" effect of the slush freezer system
will influence the solubility of components in a product. This provides a
natural way of product stabilization.
A new image/brand name can be
introduced along with its promotion for naturally enhanced product quality.
The alcohol level is determined by the fermentation process and is not
influenced by the slush freezer. Increased alcohol is possible in combination
with an ice separation system (wash column). Please ask for details on the
Freeze Concentration System for beer concentrations up to approximately 20%
v/v.
The concept of freeze concentration is explained in the chapter "Documentation"
