the range of compositions our samples have found most common. Solar pond
products that vary from this range could easily be optimized to achieve that
typical range. Consequently, our GEA Messo Standard Salt Wash, as described
below, is based on this most frequent composition range.
The GEA Messo
Standard Salt Wash can be modified easily to handle stockpiles of crude salt
which does not belong to this basic design. For example, a flotation unit is
included, to reduce high Gypsum concentrations. An important issue in preparing
any Salt Wash design is the method of sampling to ensure that samples are
representative, since critical design choices are made according to the
composition of the crude salt.
Every GEA Messo Salt Wash plant is
robust by design so that it can operate reliably under daily industrial use
with minimal downtime, and cannot be compared with simple belt conveyed
screw-type wash systems. All parts in contact with salt solution are made of
corrosion & erosion resistant Duplex stainless steel or high quality
plastic material. The multi-cyclones, centrifuges and mills are made by
manufacturers who are world-wide leaders in their specialization.
