Wash Column Technology


Step 1 Compression

Although the two wash column types differ in the way that they move crystals through the column they are similiar regarding production of pure products.
The crystallizer will generally produce a crystal slurry with a solid density between 30% and 40% solids. The first step is to remove most of the mother liquor and thus most of the impurities.
This compression step will increase the solid density from 30% to between 60% - 80%. The mother liquor is discharged through a filter and the crystals are packed against the existing
