Efficient washing

The pure product generally has a higher temperature than the slurry feed (e.g. Twash = Tcry + 10°C). The cold crystals need to absorb heat until they reach the wash temperature.
The heat necessary to raise the temperature of the crystal mass is supplied by recrystallization of the pure product used as wash liquid.
This provides a net flow of wash liquid to the wash front and returns the wash liquid as new crystals. Efficient washing and zero consumption of wash liquid!
